Daan Schuurbiers


Daan Schuurbiers, director of DPF, has encouraged early reflection on the possible social impacts of emerging technologies throughout his research and current advisory work. He designs training courses for researchers, builds novel interdisciplinary collaborations and advises on research policy on the broader societal dimensions of research and innovation.

Over the years, we have worked with a wide variety of clients from academia, government, business and non-profit sectors across Europe, including the European Commission, the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management (I&W), the National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM), RegMed XB, TU Delft, Universitair Medisch Centrum Utrecht (UMCU), l'Institut national de la santé et de la recherche médicale - Inserm, the Center for Nanotechnology in Society - Arizona State University, and the Diabetes Fund, among others.
